Zoe was found starved by a Good Samaritan that contacted MRF. We asked her to take her to the shelter just in case she had been stolen, she did and we were immediately in contact with the shelter to tell them that MRF would take her once her stray hold was up.

We picked her up 3 days later. MRF had a wonderful foster step up to take her on. Zoe has been enjoying life on the farm, lots of dogs and other animals- mini horses, goats, turkeys, ducks. She is gentle with the 18-year-old dog that is blind and deaf. She loves to run. She was starved and has been on a slow diet to gain weight… so we think she was roaming for some time.

We had to put on some weight before she was spayed on July 17th..though she still needs to gain. Zoe loves to meet new dogs and though she forgets how big she is. She is learning self-awareness with smaller dogs. She loves to run and be outside as much as possible. She is very interested in cats and chickens but is getting better with cats. She is a pleasure, and a gentle soul so little correction is all that is needed. She walks well on a leash but is still unsure about new people. She will bark and stay by your side till she feels comfortable with you showing her they are a “friend.”   

She is housebroken and where she is now, we are in and outside all the time. With that she doesn’t show signs of notifying if she needs to go outside, she just waits till you go outside. She is great for car rides and is ready for all her future adventures with her new family! She likes to roam around the yard and still working on her recall. She is mainly working on general manners and not so much obedience training yet (Sit, down, Stay).

​ Zoe will need more training-- they all do! But she is a wonderful mastiff with lots of love to give.. She enjoys a ride in the car and loves to go to work with her foster Mom at Cats n Dogs Stuff in Port Charlotte.
